One of the things that many people do with their scrapbooking layout is to go to the craft store and buy a lot of supplies. They use these supplies to decorate their pages and put things with their scrap booking projects. Instead of doing that, try saving some money and putting some things together that will help make your project look super cute!
Many people collect things like wrapping paper, greeting cards, and photographs. Then they supplement the scrap book with the things they purchase at the store. Try instead to start collecting things that would fit into your scrap book. Remember – the pages don’t have to lay totally flat.
For instance – if your child is playing soccer this year, you may want to make some unique collections that other parents might not think of. For instance, if you can get one of the soccer balls, that would be great. Of course you don’t want to put the whole soccer ball in your scrapbook layout! Instead, cut the soccer ball up and flatten a piece of it out. Put this on the page that faces the picture of your child winning the soccer game. You can do the same thing with the jersey. You can cut out your child’s number and put it on one page. On the opposite page, you can put pictures of your child in the jersey and in the team photo.
Many people are now working with digital scrapbooking layouts. These are programs that allow you to import your photos and work with a virtual scrapbook page. You can often make several pages and then get the book printed for only a few bucks. Beware of products that are “on sale” or “free.” They will often have very expensive shipping costs.
If you are looking to make your scrapbook layout cute, you need to make sure to do some things that others might not be considering. Dray and press flowers if you are scrap booking for your daughters prom. Put the dip stick from your son’s first car in his scrap book. These ideas will make the scrap book cute and memorable. You definitely want people to tell you how great your scrap books are. After all, one of the reasons we make scrapbooks is to show them to others! If you are going to be taking your hobby seriously, make sure others do, too! You want to make sure your scrapbooking layout is as cute as can be.
