How are you going to come up with a new and unique scrapbooking idea every time you make a book? Well, it’s not very difficult if you spend your time thinking about the things that make the subject of your scrapbook unique and different. For instance, don’t just follow everyone else’s ideas. If you are making a scrapbook for a baby, you might want to think about some unique scrapbooking layout ideas. How is it you are going to do this for a baby?
Wait until the baby is older! Once the baby starts to develop a personality, you can actually go back and make your scrap book with the personality in mind. By the time the baby is three, four or five years old, coming up with scrapbook page layouts that play to those unique traits will be easy. And just imagine how thankful the parent will be when you give the scrap book all those years later. Many parents love to reminisce over pictures of their child from years ago.
You can do the same thing for grown people. You don’t need to wait years to get good scrapbooking layouts, though. Adults already have a unique personality. A better idea is to think about the things that happened at the event that were memorable. Since everyone remembers things differently and has different perspectives, you may want to secretly interview the subject about the event. Jot down some notes and then put together the scrap book.
But perhaps the best idea is for graduation scrapbook layouts. This is our favorite. As you take pictures of the grad with various people (teachers, classmates, family) make sure you jot the information down. Then call or speak to each one and interview them. Get them to talk about the grad in a positive light. Take these words and put them on paper, using handwriting. Decorate around the note using imagery that is conjured by the person’s feelings on the grad. Put the photograph of the two on the other page. If you have other photographs of the two (for instance as kids growing up and playing together) you may be able to dedicate several pages to this section.
Overall, coming up with scrapbook page layouts is difficult. You want to make sure that your scrapbook is unique but also cute. You want to make sure that it looks the best, because whether your friends admit it or not, you are all competing to have the best scrapbooks. The scrapbooking idea you come up with needs to please a lot of people.
